The Bottom Line
This is the single that could easily carry the band Daughtry back to the top 5 of the pop singles chart. "Home" was a bit of a downer, but "Over You" is back in the muscular pop-rock mode that made so many American Idol viewers fall in love with Chris Daughtry in the first place.

Guide Review - Daughtry - Over You
With sales of 3,000,000 and counting for the debut album by his band Daughtry, Chris Daughtry is so far ahead of his fellow 2006 American Idol finalists that we've quit tallying the sales gap. What is truly phenomenal is that with a single like "Over You," the group can realistically aim for the next million.
"Over You" was co-written by experienced rock singer-songwriter Brian Howes. One of his most recent successes was co-writing all of the songs on the breakthrough album by the Oklahoma-based rock band Hinder. Among those tunes was the massive pop hit single "Lips of an Angel." Brian Howes obviously has a way with rock songs about the rough patches of a relationship.
"Over You" has been a fan favorite since the album Daughtry was released. The catchy singalong chorus makes it a great concert song. Look for this single to take a lengthy ride on pop radio playlists well into the fall of 2007.
