This song was included on The Chirping Crickets, the only album released by Buddy Holly and his band the Crickets during Holly's lifetime. It did not reach the pop charts until a version recorded by the Rolling Stones in 1964. Norman Petty, the credited co-songwriter, was the producer who propelled Holly's career forward by giving him studio time, assisting in putting his first records together, and eventually serving as his manager.
