Managed by Michael Bivens of New Edition, Boyz II Men released their debut album, CooleyhigHarmony, in 1991. It was an instant success and was certified nine times platinum. The group from Philadelphia consisted of Nathan Morris, Shawn Stockman, Wanya Morris, and Michael McCary (who left the act in 2003 due to health reasons).

Boyz II Men has sold over 64 million albums worldwide. The group has achieved five number one hits on the Billboard R&B chart and four singles have reached the top of the Hot 100. They have seven platinum and three gold singles. Their list of awards includes three Grammys, three NAACP Image Awards, six American Music Awards, ten Soul Train Music Awards, and three Billboard Music Awards.

In 1996, "One Sweet Day" by Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men from Carey's Daydream CD set the record for most weeks at number one, 16 weeks. It broke the record of 14 weeks set by Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You" and Boyz II Men's "I'll Make Love to You,"

Billboard magazine named it the most popular song of the 1990s. It was nominated for Grammy Awards for Record of the Year and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.

1994 - "I'll Make Love To You"

Babyface wrote and produced "I'll Make Love To You" for Boyz II Men"s II album in 1992. The song won a Grammy Award for Best R&B Vocal Performance by a Duo or Group and was also nominated for Record of the Year.

"I'll Make Love To You" held the number one position on the Billboard Hot 100 for 14 weeks, from August 27 to November 26, 1994. At the time, the song tied a record for the most weeks at number one that had been set by Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You" in late 1992 and early 1993.

The song also won two American Music Awards: Favorite Soul/R&B Single, and Favorite Pop/Rock Single, plus a Soul Train Music Award for Best R&B/Soul Single Group, Band, or Duo.

1992 - "End of the Road"

Composed and produced by LA Reid and Babyface for the 1992 Boomerang soundtrack, "End of the Road" won a Grammy Award for Best R&B Vocal Performance by a Duo or Group. The song also won an American Music Award for Favorite Pop/Rock Single.

At the Soul Train Music Awards, "End of the Road" was honored for R&B Song of the Year, and Best R&B Music Video.  

The song was certified platinum and reached the top of the Billboard Hot 100 and R&B charts. It set a record at the time for spending 13 weeks at number one on the Hot 100.

1994 - "On Bended Knee"

Boyz II Men's "On Bended Knee" replaced the group's "I'll Make Love To You" at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1994 and remained at the top of the chart for six weeks. It was the first time a group had replaced itself at number one since The Beatles in 1964.

Boyz II Men recorded "A Song for Mama" for the soundtrack of the 1997 movie, Soul Food starring Vanessa L. Williams. Babyface composed and produced the song, as well as producing the film with his wife at the time, Tracey Edmonds.

The single remained at number one for two weeks on the Billboard R&B chart and earned a Grammy Award nomination for Best R&B Vocal Performance by a Duo or Group.
