Great things were expected of this daughter of Indian sitar genius Ravi Shankar. As she came of age, Norah Jones did not disappoint. Her brand of smoky, bluesy jazz appealed to both jazz afficionados and a younger crowd looking for something different. Her hip credibility suffered a bit when the often stodgy Grammy Awards sent her home with a truckload of awards in 2003. However, she has recovered nicely with collaborations with a variety of artists from the hard-rocking Foo Fighters to the country band the Little Willies.
