k.d. lang has been recognized as one of Canada's top singers across a wide range of genres since her critically acclaimed second album Angel With a Lariat hit charts in 1987. She is a winner of four Grammy Awards in country, pop, and traditional pop. k.d. lang sang a stunning version of fellow Canadian Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" at the 2010 Winter Olympics Opening Ceremonies. It was designated as a song of peace.

2. Matisyahu - "One Day" - NBC Official Olympic Song

Matisyahu is a Hasidic Jewish singer whose music transcends the boundaries of reggae, pop, and hip hop. The message of hope included in his song "One Day" was endorsed by the NBC television network to anchor their coverage of the 2010 Winter Olympics from Vancouver.

Sarah McLachlan performed her song "Ordinary Miracle" as the soundtrack to the spring section of the 2010 Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony.

Country pop group Rascal Flatts have the bestselling song from the AT&T Team USA Soundtrack. It is a collection of songs by top artists designed to benefit the US Olympic Team. All proceeds from purchases through the end of the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver will benefit the athletes. The song is the title cut from Rascal Flatts' 2009 album Unstoppable.

5. Elliott Yamin - "Free" - NBC Daily Wrap-Up Coverage

Former American Idol contestant Elliott Yamin likely picked up a few new fans when his song "Free" was used as closing music in the NBC Winter Olympics broadcast on February 18, 2010, the day that US figure skater Evan Lysacek won gold.


6. Nikki Yanofsky - "I Believe" - CTV Official Olympic Song

Nikki Yanofsky is a Canadian jazz and pop singer. Her single "I Believe" was picked by the Canadian television network CTV as their official song for 2010 Winter Olympics broadcasts. It has now hit #1 on the Canadian pop singles chart. Nikki Yanofsky sang the Canadian national anthem at the Winter Olympics opening ceremonies.
