David Guetta's epic second collaboration with singer-songwriter Sia leads off this week's hottest new pop songs.
1. Ellie Goulding - "Anything Could Happen"
Just as Ellie Goulding is reaching a #2 pop peak in the US with the single "Lights," she is working on keeping the momentum going with the first track from her upcoming album Halcyon. She co-produced the new song with Jim Eliot of the electropop group Kish Mauve. Ellie Goulding has said in interviews she thinks she may be subconsciously influenced by the music of her current boyfriend Skrillex.
2. David Guetta - "She Wolf (Falling To Pieces)" featuring Sia
David Guetta's first collaboration with singer-songwriter Sia was the single "Titanium." It has turned into a worldwide smash hit reaching #1 in the UK and #7 in the US. The pair combine for an even more epic sound this time around. It will be the first single from a re-release of David Guetta's album Nothing But the Beat.
4. The Script - "Hall Of Fame" featuring will.i.am
"Hall Of Fame" is the first single from the Script's upcoming third studio album. It has instantly entered the adult pop top 40. The group's most recent album Science and Faith was a #3 hit and generated two top 40 pop hit singles.
5. Muse - "Madness"
Muse are arguably today's biggest British rock band. Their last three studio albums have gone to #1 in the UK and The Resistance, their most recent, peaked at #3 in the US. "Madness" is the second single from the band's upcoming album The 2nd Law. The album is due in stores October 2, 2012.
6. Mayer Hawthorne - "Get Ready"
Mayer Hawthorne is the stage name used by Andrew Mayer Cohen. He has received acclaim for his classic retro soul sound. His first major label album How Do You Do was released in October 2011 and it peaked at #52 on the album chart. The song "Get Ready" was a top 30 pop hit for the Temptations in 1966 and a #4 pop hit by the band Rare Earth in 1970.
7. Jayme Dee - "Tip Toes"
"Tip Toes" is the debut single from singer-songwriter Jayme Dee. She began playing guitar when she found one while rummaging around her family's garage. She uploaded acoustic covers of mainstream pop songs to YouTube and ultimately received over 13 million views on her channel. Her song "Rules" was included on the soundtrack to The Hunger Games, and she will be touring this fall with Owl City.
8. Midnight Mirage - "Bad For You"
"Bad For You" is the first single from rising pop-rock band Midnight Mirage. They have been listed by Billboard magazine as one of the fastest rising artists on the web. Midnight Mirage recently had a one month residency at the club The Mint in Hollywood.
9. Sandi Thom - "The Sun Comes Crashing Down"
Singer-songwriter Sandi Thom surged to the top of the UK pop charts in 2006 with her debut single "I Wish I Was a Punk Rocker (With Flowers In My Hair)." It was followed by her #1 album Smile...It Confuses People. Her most recent album Merchants and Thieves was released on her own Guardian Angels album to critical support but little commercial success.
10. Sammy Adams - "All Night Longer"
Rapper Sammy Adams was listed by Teen Vogue as one of five new artists to watch in 2012. His song "Only One" received exposure in television commercials during coverage of the 2012 Summer Olympic Games.
