Gym Class Heroes lead the list this week with the follow up to their huge hit "Stereo Hearts."
1. Gym Class Heroes - "Ass Back Home" featuring Neon Hitch
Gym Class Heroes are celebrating one of the biggest pop hits of their career, "Stereo Hearts," a top 5 pop smash. As a follow up, they are connecting with British singer Neon Hitch. She co-wrote Ke$ha's hit single "Blah Blah Blah." The Gym Class Heroes album Papercut Chronicles II is expected in stores November 15, 2011.
2. Jack Johnson - "In the Morning"
Jack Johnson's new laidback holiday tune is a single from the Christmas compilation This Warm December. The album is a collection of songs from artists who record for Jack Johnson's Brushfire Records label. All five of Jack Johnson's albums are certified platinum. The last two hit #1 on the album chart. Despite all of the album success, he only has one top 40 hit song. "You and Your Heart" from his most recent album To the Sea reached #20.
3. Uncle Kracker - "My Hometown"
Former Kid Rock DJ Uncle Kracker has carved out a cross format niche for himself. His recent smash hit "Smile" was certified platinum in sales and went to the top 10 on both country and adult pop radio. His new single "My Hometown" comfortably fits in the same vein and has already landed on the country chart. In today's crossover market, "My Hometown" could be a significant mainstream pop hit as well. It is the first single from the Postcards From Home album due in early 2012.
4. Blondfire - "Where the Kids Are"
Blondfire are a New York City based indie brother and sister duo. They originally performed and recorded as Astaire, but they changed their name in 2005 after legal threats from the Fred Astaire estate. Their first album My Someday was released in 2008. Special notice should be taken of the humorous music video accompanying "Where the Kids Are."
5. Mary J. Blige - "Mr. Wrong" featuring Drake
Mary J. Blige has been a star recording artist for 20 years. Her latest album My Life...The Journey Continues (Act 1), a sequel to her seminal 1994 album My Life, is due in stores November 21, 2011. "Mr. Wrong" is the second single from the project. It is a collaboration with rapper Drake. Mary J. Blige has sold more than 35 million albums in the US alone.
6. Yelawolf - "Let's Roll" featuring Kid Rock
Rapper Yelawolf is a protege of Eminem. "Let's Roll" is the second single from Radioactive, his debut album hitting stores November 21, 2011. Yelawolf has already featured on songs by The Crystal Method, Travis Barker, and Paul Wall among others.
7. Far East Movement - "Jello" featuring Rye Rye
Far East Movement are still riding the wave of the massive success of their hit single "Like a G6." "Jello" is the first single from a new album expected in early 2012. The featured artist is rapper Rye Rye who is the current subject of a significant amount of buzz. Her debut album in the works is Go! Pop! Bang!
8. The Roots - "Make My" featuring Big K.R.I.T.
The upcoming thirteenth studio album from acclaimed hip hop band The Roots will be titled Undun. "Make My" is the first single from the project. The Roots have won four Grammy Awards. Their last five studio albums have all been top 5 hits.
9. Sean Paul - "She Doesn't Mind"
A fifth studio album from Sean Paul is expected in February 2012. "Got 2 Luv U," the first single from the project, was a top 20 rap hit. "She Doesn't Mind" is the second single. It was co-produced by pop producers Benny Blanco and Shellback. Sean Paul has not reached the pop top 40 as a lead artist since 2006 when a streak of seven consecutive top 20 hits came to an end.
10. Big Time Rush - "Music Sounds Better With U" featuring Mann
Big Time Rush, the pop band from the Nickelodeon TV show of the same name, landed in the top 3 of the album chart with their debut B.T.R.. "Music Sounds Better With U" is the first single from the upcoming second album Elevate which is due in stores November 21, 2011. Featured rapper Mann is best known for his top 20 rap hit "Buzzin'."
