The Rolling Stones return with the first new music recorded by the band in seven years. It is a return to their classic rock sound. That is only the first in a great set of new pop songs released this week.
1. The Rolling Stones - "Doom and Gloom"
The Rolling Stones, one of the top rock bands of all time, recently went back to the studio for the first time in seven years. "Doom and Gloom" is one of the songs they recorded during those sessions. It is a return to the classic rock sound of the band. It is also the first single from the upcoming 50th anniversary GRRRR!! Greatest Hits collection due in stores November 13, 2012.
2. Taylor Swift - "I Knew You Were Trouble"
This is the fourth single from Taylor Swift's upcoming Red album. All three previous songs reached the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song is a collaboration with Swedish pop producer Max Martin. It is far removed from traditional country music.
3. Joshua Radin - "In Her Eyes"
"In Her Eyes" is a previously unreleased song from singer-songwriter Joshua Radin that he has performed live multiple times. Recently he performed the song on the Ellen DeGeneres Show. His last three studio albums have all reached the top 40 of the US album chart.
4. Blood On the Dance Floor - "Hell On Heels (Givin' In To Sin)"
Punk electronica band Blood On the Dance Floor broke into the top 50 of the US album chart with their most recent release Evolution. Less than six months later they are gearing up for their next album The Anthem Of the Outcast due in stores October 30, 2012. "Hell On Heels" is the anthemic first single from the project.
5. Big Boi - "Mama Told Me" featuring Kelly Rowland
Best known as one half of OutKast, Big Boi also has a critically acclaimed solo career. His first release, 2010's Sir Lucious Left Foot, reached #3 on the album chart. "Mama Told Me" is a track from the upcoming Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors which is due in stores November 13, 2012.
6. The Joy Formidable - "This Ladder Is Ours"
Welsh alternative rock band The Joy Formidable broke into the top 10 of the Billboard Heatseekers chart with their first album The Big Roar released in early 2011. They will be touring as an opening act for Muse in advance of a second studio album Wolf's Law due in stores in January 2013. "This Ladder Is Ours" is a single from the upcoming album.
7. Uncle Kracker - "Nobody's Sad On a Saturday Night"
With recent releases Uncle Kracker has been turning to country music. "Nobody's Sad On a Saturday Night" continues that evolution. It is a song from his upcoming fifth studio album Midnight Special. It is also being featured on ESPN's television coverage of college football.
8. Audra Mae - "The Unclouded Day"
Audra Mae is an Oklahoma based singer-songwriter. She co-wrote the song "Who I Was Born To Be" for Susan Boyle's debut album I Dreamed a Dream. The new song "The Unclouded Day" was included on the soundtrack of a recent episode of the hit TV show Sons Of Anarchy.
9. Ludacris - "Representin'" featuring Kelly Rowland
Ludacris' "Representin'" is the second song in this week's top 10 new songs featuring vocals from Kelly Rowland. The song will be included on Ludacris' upcoming eighth studio album Ludaversal. It is scheduled for release early in 2013. All seven of his previous albums have reached the top 5 of the album chart.
10. Jay Tee - "Show Girl" featuring Young Dru and Baby Bash
Jay Tee is the stage name of California based rapper James Trujillo. He is the founder and owner of 40 Ounce Records. He maintains a strong positive reputation in the San Francisco Bay underground music scene.
