One of the best things about today's online music services is the opportunity to purchase individual songs for unlimited listening regardless of whether or not they have been released as a single. Each week I uncover some of the best pop tracks to download from online music services. These are some of the best tracks from recent pop album releases.
1. Barry Manilow featuring Phyllis McGuire - Sincerely/Teach Me Tonight
50 years ago Phyllis McGguire hit the pop charts with her sisters on one of the definitive recordings of "Sincerely." She joins Barry Manilow for a powerful, contemporary version of the song.
2. Train - Give Myself To You
Listen for some unusually soulful vocals here on this track from Train's latest album.
3. Yellowcard - Holly Wood Died
The title song from Yellowcard's Lights and Sounds album is featured this week on commercials for The O.C. Dig a little deeper into the album here.
4. KT Tunstall - Other Side of the World
KT Tunstall is a Scottish pop sensation. Her hit "Black Horse and the Cherry Tree" is a rousing song. This track proves she is adept at quieter moments, too.
5. Andrea Bocelli - Can't Help Falling in Love
There is no one better at romantic, classical vocalizing than Italian Bocelli.
6. Temptations - I'll Be There
Listen to the venerable r&b masters take on this 4 Tops classic.
7. Il Divo - All By Myself
Eric Carmen topped the pop singles chart with this poignant ballad. Now here the popera boys weave their magic with the tune.
8. Marty Casey & Lovehammers - Casualty
You first got to know Marty Casey as a finalist on the reality show INXS: Rockstar. Now hear him with his own hard rocking Chicago-based band.
9. Wolfmother - Dimension
One of Australia's latest gifts to the pop-rock world are this bunch of Led Zep worshipers.
10. Collective Soul - Pretty Donna
This beautiful string instrumental was first introduced by Collective Soul on their breakthrough album Hints, Allegations, and Things Left Unsaid. From their current Home live collection, this is an extended version of the beautiful tune.
