One of the best things about today's online music services is the opportunity to purchase individual songs for unlimited listening regardless of whether or not they have been released as a single. Each week I uncover some of the best pop tracks to download from online music services. The music will range widely across pop genres.
Read lists from previous weeks.
1. Mary J. Blige - I Found My Everything
Classic soul and gospel blend in Mary J. Blige's celebration of enduring love. This is one of the many highlights from the Breakthrough album.
2. Nickelback - Follow You Home
Nickelback's hit single "Photograph" seems permanently lodged in the pop top 10. This is a grinding, harder-edged track from the album All the Right Reasons
3. Rihanna - Here I Go Again
Rihanna has 2 hit singles from her first album Music of the Sun. This tune, with its gentle Caribbean lilt, is my pick for hit #3.4. Chris Brown - Is This Love?
It's an elegant slow jam from new teenage star Chris Brown that compares well with recent work by Usher.
5. Daddy Yankee featuring Snoop Dogg - Gangsta Zone
Reggaeton superstar Daddy Yankee joins forces here with Snoop Dogg. The hard bounce and rapid-fire rapping make this track irresistible. Snoop's inimitable voice is icing on the cake.
6. Eminem - Without Me
In recognition of Eminem's recent dominance of the pop albums chart, I'm digging back in time to this lead single from The Eminem Show. Few pop artists have marked a return with more edgy humor and style.
7. Disturbing Tha Peace - Table Dance
Ludacris' DTP posse is featured here with a stellar romantic croon from protege Bobby Valentino.
8. Ryan Adams - 29
Adams is one of today's most prolific musicians. This is the title song from his 3rd album of 2005. This track is a riveting, moody rocker.
9. INXS - Us
The new INXS release Switch, the first featuring new singer JD Fortune, is their bestselling album in over a decade. This mellow ballad showcases his vocal talents.
10. Korn - Hypocrites
One of the top tracks from See You on the Other Side, the return of metal gods Korn.
