This year's annual salute to the Grammy Awards collecting a wide range of nominees leads off this week's new pop releases.

It is the 19th consecutive year a compilation album of Grammy Awards nominees has been released. As the series typically does, this collection focuses on pop, rock, and R&B nominees. This annual set serves as a good overview of the state of the art in mainstream music for the previous year.

2. Billy Joel - She's Got a Way: Love Songs

Billy Joel is one of the most successful pop singer-songwriters of all time. This new collection of material puts together some of the best love songs spanning his career. The selection digs into some of his lesser known songs as well as including hits familiar to all of his fans.

3. Aaron Neville - My True Story

R&B singer Aaron Neville receives acclaim for possessing one of the most moving voices in the business. This new collection marks his move to the Blue Note record label. It is a set of classic doo-wop songs produced by Blue Note president Don Was and Keith Richards. A range of legendary doo-wop singers make appearances singing back up.

4. Gary Allan - Set You Free

Country singer Gary Allan is currently riding the peak of his career. His last five studio albums reached the top 5 on the country chart and his most recent three collections landed in the top 5 of the overall album chart. Set You Free includes the top 5 country hit single "Every Storm (Runs Out Of Rain)." It is Gary Allan's biggest hit single since 2007.

5. Kris Kristofferson - Feeling Mortal

Kris Kristofferson is a living legend among singer-songwriters. He is also an acclaimed actor. At the age of 76 he is still writing and creating new music. This is his third consecutive album produced by Don Was. The first two were acclaimed as moving works by a musical master in his twilight years.

6. Bad Religion - True North

Bad Religion are one of the most durable and revered of all punk bands. Based in Los Angeles, they first came together as a group in 1979. True North is Bad Religion's sixteenth studio album. The group's last four studio releases all reached the top 50 of the album chart.

7. Trapt - Reborn

Reborn is the fifth studio album by rock group Trapt. It is the last to feature work by former lead guitarist Rob Torres. Consequently, the band says that the album is a new sound for the band. Reborn includes the top 25 rock hit single "Bring It." Trapt remain best known for their 2002 #1 alternative hit single "Headstrong."

8. Mountains - Centralia

Mountains are an experimental electro-acoustic duo. Their music is measured and precise while still maintaining a sense of ambient warmth. Past recordings by Mountains have drawn comparisons to the pioneering work of Brian Eno.

9. The Joy Formidable - Wolf's Law

Welsh alternative rock band The Joy Formidable made a significant critical splash with their 2011 debut album The Big Roar. It climbed into the top 10 of the US Heatseekers chart. Much of the new album was written while the band was touring in support of their first album. It includes the top 25 alternative hit song "This Ladder Is Ours."

10. Camper Van Beethoven - La Costa Perdida

Camper Van Beethoven are alternative rock legends. They first formed as a group in 1983. Their music is known for blending disparate genres from ska to punk to folk and country. The group disbanded for much of the 1990s. La Costa Perdida is the band's first new studio album in nearly a decade.
