It's a very deep week of new releases. You can't go wrong with any of these albums. All should be big sellers out of the box.
1. Mika - Life in Cartoon Motion
This may not end up being the best selling new pop album of the week, but an argument can be made that Mika's debut is the most important of the week. His kaleidoscopic pop has swept to the top of the charts around the world and is just starting to gain traction in the US with increasing radio airplay of the single "Grace Kelly."
2. Good Charlotte - Good Morning Revival
The Madden brothers lead their band Good Charlotte forward into new pop and rock territory on their 4th album.
3. Various Artists - NOW! That's What I Call Music! 24
The franchise continues, and it's a handy way to catch up if you've been ignoring the pop music scene the past few months.
4. Kaiser Chiefs - Yours Truly Angry Mob
The music is a bit deeper and darker than on their debut, but the Kaiser Chiefs' second album has delivered on the promise of their first throughout Europe. It is guaranteed to improve on the #86 peak of the band's first release.
5. Elton John - Rocket Man: Number Ones
For the first time, we now have a high quality Elton John greatest hits collection that fits on one disc. Of course, there are many tracks by Elton that are well worth owning but do not fit on this album. This is the complete picture only for casual fans.
6. Stevie Nicks - Crystal Visions: The Very Best of Stevie Nicks
Fans be forewarned - most of the Fleetwood Mac songs included here are re-recordings either live or in the studio. However, this is still an outstanding Stevie Nicks retrospective spanning the breadth of her recorded output.
7. Tim McGraw - Let It Go
Tim McGraw follows the massive Soul2Soul II tour, where he shared the stage with wife Faith Hill, with a new studio album that includes 2 duets with Hill.
8. Macy Gray - Big
With production work from the Black Eyed Peas' will.i.am, this looks like a strong effort to return Macy Gray to the commercial success she enjoyed early in her recording career.
9. Mims - Music Is My Savior
This is the debut album from the rapper who recently stormed to the top of the pop singles chart with "This Is Why I'm Hot."
10. Jennifer Lopez - Como Ama Una Mujer
This is J.Lo's first complete Spanish-language album. The first single "Que Hiciste" has reached the top 20 of the Latin singles chart in the US.
