Two of the best albums of the year dominate this week's releases, but don't miss out of plenty of good music in the remainder of the list.
1. My Chemical Romance - The Black Parade
My Chemical Romance have released a brilliant album. The Black Parade should put them at the front of the pack of a new generation of rock bands.
2. John Legend - Once Again
John Legend proves the accolades heaped on his debut album Get Lifted were no fluke. This is one of the best r&b albums of the year.
3. Soundtrack - Hannah Montana
Move over Hilary Duff! Mylie Cyrus (Billy Ray's daughter) is on her way up.
4. Jibbs - Jibbs Featuring Jibbs
This is the full-length album debut for the teen rapper who released the insanely catchy "Chain Hang Low."
5. Brooke Hogan - Undiscovered
Hulk Hogan's daughter is setting out to prove she can handle a show business career beyond her famous family. The hit single "About Us" with rapper Paul Wall was a good start.
6. Soundtrack - Tim Burton's 'The Nightmare Before Christmas'
This is a special edition of the soundtrack to the animated classic film. It includes new material from the likes of Fall Out Boy and Panic! At the Disco
7. George Benson and Al Jarreau - Givin' It Up
Two jazz and r&b legends combine forces for delectable, smooth pop-flavored tunes that will remind you of the best moments in their individual careers.
8. Paul Stanley - Live to Win
The Kiss guitarist has put together only the second solo album of his career. This one may be surprisingly mellow to many fans, but it is top-notch pop-rock
9. Aimee Mann - One More Drifter in the Snow
The much revered independent-minded pop singer has put together her first holiday album. Put a log on the fire, roast some chestnuts, enjoy a Christmas cookie or two, and this will be the perfect soundtrack.
10. Various Artists - The Harry Smith Project: American Folk Music Revisited
A wide range of pop-rock artists from Beck to Elvis Costello pay tribute to legendary musicologist Harry Smith and the American folk music he rescued from obscurity.
