missing love songs
- "Higher Love" by Steve Winwood. Love love love this song -- one of the few about love within marriage. "Never My Love" by the Fifth Dimension (yeah, I know it was originally sung by the Association). "Faithfully" by Journey. "Top of the World" by the Carpenters (although I'll accept that "Close to You" is an excellent song, too, and it made the list). "It Had to Be You" sung by Harry Connick Jr. (and about a million others over the years!). And agreed with some of the other comments here -- "I Can't Help Falling in Love" and "In Your Eyes" hafta be on the list.

- Really good list. I don't think 100 songs can be enough to fit all the great love songs around. There always will be many left out. Anyway, I an really pleased to see Your Song on #2. Great piece of art.

- I think this is the more lovelly song of all time I´ve ever heard because it makes you realize how deep could turned a love relation with the years go by and how, even when that relation is at the end, love wins an make you set free that person if you really loves her, without hurt her nor misstreat her eather.

- I agree with Asif - Ben Fold's 'the luckiest'. If you listen to the lyrics, it's not mushy, just real. It made me cry everytime I heard it from the 1st time I listened to the lyrics completely.

Wrong format
- Top 100 love songs should be categorized. Maybe into decades and genre. Where are the ABBA hits. I know they were never big in the USA, why ? Shut out, no doubt, the way the Beatles were eventually and then the disco Bee Gees. Where is ABBA's 'The Winner Takes It All' ( heard of Mama Mia ), Chiquitita, One of Us, etc etc. Million sellers all over the world. I cannot also agree with the two simplistic Beatles numbers in the top ten. This is only pandering to the Beatles myth. Check out the Bee Gee's ODDESSA double album of 1969 ( pre disco), this rivals the best that the Beatles, Queen or The Who ever did.

Dig Deeper!
- I challenge anyone to better John Denver's FOR YOU. See it on 'you tube' with him live on piano. Makes some of the inane diddies on the top 100 look and sound like nursery rhymes. Also Bee Gee's classic LAMPLIGHT from 1969 surely the best rock-opera number of all time from the ODESSA double album. Considering they were about 20 years old when they recorded it, a true masterpiece, forget the disco stuff.
